My previous post & especially the comments by bhatta n archana made me feel like writing this one. People, this is an issue-driven, political post. Those who are allergic to these kinda posts can easily give a skip ;)
The question is : "Is Mr.Deve Gowda making sense in his accusations?"
If you ask me, he is NOT.
Now another question arises... WHY do I think he isnt making sense?
Lemme try to break up the issue into points :
1. It all starts with Mr. NRN giving a presentation where he says that "Transparency, fairness, and accountability have to be ensured by the government".
2. Gowda feels NRN is going overboard & Says new mantra of shifting focus on urban-rural partnership is old wine in new bottle. He directly says Industrialists n businessmen should mind their own business & shouldn't interfere in government activities.
3. Next day, he comes up with more accusations against NRN & Infy, says that Mr. NRN has not done anything in these 5 years in tenure as BIAL chief. He goes on accusing Infy of "grabbing" lands at "cheap" costs & calls NRN as a REAL ESTATE AGENT!!!
4. 2 days later, Mr.NRN resigns from the chairmanship of BIAL & Gowda could only come up with the comment "ayyo shivane!! naa en maadde?!!".

5. Gowda shifts his focus onto the way BATF functions & how (un)effective is PPP. He questions the METRO RAIL project & its cost effectiveness. He doesnt accept that Bangalore's infrastructure needs a restructure urgently.
6. Bangalore's IT.in show starts on wednesday. Gowda is made the chief guest for the event as the coalation govt wanna prove that JD(S) isnt against Bangalore & IT.
7. Bangalore suffers from curses of rain Gods, Gowda says he would visit flood affected areas rather than attending the IT show, but shamelessly goes to the show leaving the victims lurching for help.
Now, lemme try to know the "maksad" behind these "nataks":
1. Tejaswini Ramesh, a straunch follower of SM Krishna is fielded against the Ex-Prime Minister of India, Mr. H.D.Deve Gowda for Kanakapura constituency. The ex-PM is humiliated by the novice. DG fumes against Krishna, says he rigged the poll.
2. Krishna fails to get majority seats in Karnataka assembly elections, JD(S) offers support & forms a coalation govt. DG plays Sonia by controlling the affairs back-scene. DG succeeds in keeping away Krishna & all his followers away from the cabinet. Dharam Singh (meekest CM ever to lead the govt, who is neither a political big-weight, nor a mass follower) is made the CM.
3. Siddaramaiah, the deputy CM, tries to gain mileage out of his position & lock horns with DG... shown the door by the ex-PM, who shows he is the king maker now.
So, I guess this much of background is enough to know the reason which prompted Mr.DG to fume against the Infy chief. He simply feels, Mr.NRN is close to Krishna (coz it was Krishna who made NRN as the BIAL chief in 2000) & somehow wants to finish off the career of Krishna in Karnataka politics, dont matter whoz made the BAKRA in the process.
Now, coming back to Bhatta.... U said, Gowda is not wrong when he said he wants to punish ppl who have approved encroachments, and land grabbers. This is a BIG JOKE. D you have any idea about to whom the thousands of acres of land near Kanakapura & Devanahalli belongs? If you dont, dig up the facts & see for urself. I dont wanna name them here n get into trouble. But i tell u, its an open secret.
and about ur other comment "A senior politician will not give idiotic quotes without forethought." I guess, archana has replied in the best possible manner.
Its really hurts when we see TWO senior politicians fighting by throwing mud on each other, but it hurts even more when the city n the citizens & someone like Mr.NRN is made the target in the process :(
Finally, i want all the people who supports the ex-PM who has slept in every possible meet n place (not to mention, in the meet where NRN gave the presentation recently) to understand that, there is no basis for him to say BATF & PPP is toothless & hasnt done anything for Bangalore.
Look at the flyovers around, look at the "Nirmala Bangalore" toilets, look at the "swacha bangalore" "gaadi" which comes everyday to ur houses.
Only thing which made lil sense till date was when Mr. DG asked the IT companies to provide jobs n not just compensation to farmers who lost their lands.
