I really miss it... do u???

This one is going around the email circles these days, but its really interesting and kinda touchy... just go thru this :)

PS: I just edited few things to suit my requirements ;)

When gulli-danda, goli (marbles) and buguri (top) were more
popular than cricket ...

When we always had friends to play aais-paais (I Spy),
chhepan-chhepai and pitthoo anytime ...

When we desperately waited for 'yeh jo hai jindagi'
... When chitrahaar, vikram-baitaal, dada daadi ki
kahaniyaan were so fulfilling ...

When there was just one tv in every five houses and

When bisleris were not sold in the trains and we were
worrying if papas will get back into the train in time
or not when they were getting down at stations to fill
up the water bottle ...

When we were going to bed by 9.00pm sharp except for
the 'yeh jo hai jindagi' day ...

When Holis & Diwalis meant mostly hand-made pakwaans and
sweets and moms seeking our help while preparing them
...
When Maths teachers were not worried of our mummys and
papas while slapping/beating us ...

When we were exchanging comics and stamps and
chacha-chaudaris and billus were our heroes ...

When we were in "ajji-manes"(nanihaals) every summer and loved
flying kites and plucking and eating unripe mangoes
and leechis ...

When one movie every Sunday evening on television was
more than asked for and 'ek do teen chaar' and
'Rajni' inspired us ...
When 50 paisa meant at least 10 toffees ...

When left over pages of the last years notebooks were
used for rough work or even fair work ...

When 'chelpark' and 'natraaj' were encouraged against
'reynolds and family' ...

When the first rain meant getting drenched and playing
in water and mud and making 'kaagaj ki kishtis' ...

When there were no phones to tell friends that we will
be at their homes at six in the evening ...

When our parents always had 15 paise blue colored
'antardesis' and 5 paise machli wale stamps at home
...
When we remembered tens of jokes and were not finding
'ice-cream and papa' type jokes foolish enough to stop
us from laughing ...

When we were not seeing patakhes on Diwalis and
gulaals on Holis as air and noise polluting or
allergic agents ...
the list can be endless ...
on the serious note I would like to summarise with ...

When we were using our hearts more than our brains,
even for scientifically brainy activities like
'thinking' and 'deciding' ...

When we were crying and laughing more often, more
openly and more sincerily ...

When we were enjoying our present more than worrying
about our future ...

When being emotional was not synonymous to being weak
...

When sharing worries and happinesses didnt mean
getting vulnerable to the listener ...
When blacks and whites were the favourite colors
instead of greys ...
When journeys also were important and not just the
destinations ...

When life was a passenger's sleeper giving enough time
and opportunity to enjoy the sceneries from its open
and transparent glass windows instead of some
superfast's second ac with its curtained, closed and
dark windows ...
Wo choti choti khushiya, small pleasures, those corners of galli
with friends, those days...
I really miss .. do u?,

Wanna Google??!!!!

Tips for you to search the stuff u want in Google ;) I found these tips extremely useful and thought of sharing it with all...

Lets all cheer for Google once!!!

METHOD 1
-------------

put this string in google search:

"parent directory " /appz/ -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
"parent directory " DVDRip -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
"parent directory "Xvid -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
"parent directory " Gamez -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
"parent directory " MP3 -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
"parent directory " Name of Singer or album -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

Notice that I am only changing the word after the parent directory, change it to what you want and you will get a lot of stuff.

METHOD 2
-------------

put this string in google search:
?intitle:index.of? mp3

You only need add the name of the song/artist/singer.
Example: ?intitle:index.of? mp3 jackson

METHOD 3
-------------

put this string in google search:

inurl:microsoft filetype:iso

You can change the string to watever you want, ex. microsoft to adobe, iso to zip etc...

* intitle: restricts the search to titles of web pages, eg intitle:library
* inurl: restricts the search to URLs of web pages, eg inurl:help
* intext: searches only body text of the page, ignoring titles, URLs, and links, eg intext:'yahoo.com'
* inanchor: searches for text in a page's link anchors (the descriptive text of the link), eg inanchor:ebook
* site: allows the search to be narrowed to pages within that site or the top-level domain, eg site:edu
* link: returns the list of pages linking to that URL, eg link:google.com
* cache: finds indexed copies of the pages in Google, handy for those pages which update often, eg cache:www.cnn.com
* daterange: limits the search to a particular date or range of dates. Interestingly this works only with Julian, rather than standard Gregorian dates. You can search for converters on Google-
* filetype: searches filename extensions, eg filetype: pdf
* related: finds pages related to the site, eg related:google.com will return other search engines such as HotBot, Yahoo! or Northern Light.
* info: this feature will link to information related to the URL, and pages containing that URL, eg info:www.oreilly.com
* phonebook: looks up phone numbers, eg phonebook:george bush

Confused Patriot!!

Patriotism... Can anyone define me what's PATRIOTISM is? Can anyone lemme know whoz a true PATRIOT?? I royally failed in getting an answer to these simple questions.
Yesterday, rather today morning (12 am), i was chatting with a friend of mine and this question popped up... We discussed lotsa things - can NRIs claim that they are patriotic? Can I claim to be a patriot, just coz' i wish all my friends on 15th Aug and 26th Jan?? These and lots of other things. But neither of us got satisfactory answers.
I can write a mini-book about the things mentioned above. But, on this day, i wanna pledge that I wont be a patriot for namesake, but definitely will do my bit to this wonderful country in my own possible way, which i have thought of.
It really hurts, when someone u know well, comes up with a question "are you done with your patriotic messages, Raju?", just coz i wished her with coloured messages twice within half an hour for the independence day. I care a damn for such people:|:|

anyways lemme end this short n confused post on a nice note :

jab desh mien thi diwali...
voh khel rahe they holi...
jab hum baithey they gharon mien..
voh jhel rahey they goli..
they dhanya jawan voh apne...
thi dhanya voh unki jawani....
jo shahid hue hain unki
zara yaad karo qurbani...

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

Run baby run!!!

I got up at my usual time (6.30) today as well. But the mistake i did was to read the newspaper. Tytler's resignation and post-mortem of TEAM INDIA's performance in triseries ate up my time n i started 3 mins late from home.
I sprinted down the road and was catching my breath already, but just as i had guessed, i saw my bus going off from around 100 mts.
Here comes the filmi part!!! The bulb in me lit up in a flash! and i turned right n took a shortcut to the next bus stop. Initially i thought, i could catch the bus this time, but it meant i had to run at the speed of the bus. Everyone might think, "Big Deal!!!", but yeah, it was a big deal for me, as i already had sprinted a km by now.
I almost lost the hope of catching the bus, but my 'Never say die' attitude [;)] installed more energy in me and i was there, right in front of the bus, perfectly on time, just like the police in kannada films!!
So cool na?!!! But the worse part started after this, i was breathing hard for next 10 mins, and i felt like, i was still running inside the bus [:-s].

But i guess, i need to blame Greg Chappel n his team for all these things [:p]

Zindagi ke safar mein....

One of my all time favourites... cant stop humming this from last night. I dunno why, i never get bored of singing this... i can sing this again n again :)

Zindagi Ke Safar Mein Guzar Jaate Hain Jo Makaam
Vo Phir Nahin Aate, Vo Phir Nahin Aate

Phool Khilte Hain, Log Milte Hain
Phool Khilte Hain, Log Milte Hain Magar
Patjhad Mein Jo Phool Murjha Jaate Hain
Vo Baharon Ke Aane Se Khilte Nahin
Kuchh Log Ik Roz Jo Bichhad Jaate Hain
Vo Hazaron Ke Aane Se Milte Nahin
Umra Bhar Chahe Koi Pukaara Kare Unka Naam
Vo Phir Nahin Aate, Vo Phir Nahin Aate
Zindagi Ke Safar Mein...

Aankh Dhokha Hai, Kya Bharosa Hai
Aankh Dhokha Hai, Kya Bharosa Hai Suno
Doston Shaq Dosti Ka Dushman Hai
Apne Dil Mein Ise Ghar Banane Na Do
Kal Tadapna Pade Yaad Mein Jinki
Rok Lo Rooth Kar Unko Jaane Na Do
Baad Mein Pyaar Ke Chahe Bhejo Hazaron Salaam
Vo Phir Nahin Aate, Vo Phir Nahin Aate
Zindagi Ke Safar Mein...

Subah Aati Hai, Shaam Jaati Hai
Subah Aati Hai, Shaam Jaati Hai Yunhi
Vaqt Chalta Hi Rehta Hai Rukta Nahin
Ek Pal Mein Ye Aage Nikal Jaata Hai
Aadmi Theek Se Dekh Paata Nahin
Aur Pardey Pe Manzar Badal Jaata Hai
Ek Baar Chale Jaate Hain Jo Din-Raat Subah-O-Shaam
Vo Phir Nahin Aate, Vo Phir Nahin Aate
Zindagi Ke Safar Mein..

For those who dunno about this song :
Movie: AAP KI KASAM
Singer: KISHORE da

If you havent listened to it as yet, i tell u... u aint fit to be a music lover!!

Fury

Mumbai, the commercial capital of India is reeling under nature's fury, and I just want to pray God to rest the souls of the dead in peace and give immense strength to those alive n those battling for life.
I hope this is a wake up call to all other governments to have a relook at the city infrastructure and their ability to deal with these kinda natural disasters. The money n business lost amounts to thousands of crores, but the lives lost is so so so priceless. The Met-Dept is predicting more heavy showers on Aug 5th, and i hope they are wrong (as always!).
Those who havent ever seen the Mumbai airport, i have a pic to share :

Ironically, this incident happened amidst heavy rains :

Now, people who dont believe in fate, do think again.
